The work centre consists of a stripping station and a separate crimping press, to join multi conductor cables with electric parts. Optional cable carrier spreader plates retain and accurately position as many as 8 wires that can be moved from the stripping station to the press.

The cable carriers are loaded manually. The individual wires are positioned in the carriers by colour and cross-section. It is possible to have a different cross-section at each wire position. Cable strain relief is provided by a lever clamp at the rear of the carrier to prevent loss of position during transport from the stripping station to the press.

In each process station the cable carriers are accurately located by clamping the unit against locating pins aligned with the station tooling.

At the stripping station all of the individual wires are cut to length and stripped in a single stroke.

The operator loads the electronic part into the press station then clamps the cable carrier in position against the locating pins. Moving the carrier forward to activate the process position sensor starts the crimping process. All the wires will be crimped simultaneously.

The machine is being used in the series production in the industry for white goods and electronics.
